FAQ

What are the costs for being a member of 4th Ashby Scout Group

All sections are just £13 a month payable by Direct Debit. This covers badges, many activities and insurance. We offer help with costs where needed – just ask.

How do I get my child on the waiting list?

Click "Join Today" above. We’ll add them and let you know when a space opens (usually within a term).

What does my child need to bring to their first meeting?

Just wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. Uniform is optional at first – we’ll guide you on that later.

What if my child has additional needs or a disability?

We welcome everyone. Please let us know in advance so we can make reasonable adjustments and ensure they have a great experience.

Where and when do the sections meet?

See the homepage. Most sections are at Donisthorpe Scout Centre on Tuesday or Thursday evenings.

How do I contact the leaders?

Ideally by replying to an email. Our team are ALL volunteers and have families and day jobs, so replies can sometimes take a couple of days. You can also use our contact page (https://4thashby.org.uk/contact).

Is there a programme of activities?

Yes – each section follows a varied programme of games, skills, camps and adventures. Details are shared via OSM or Scoutworks (online platforms we use to make everyone's life easier)

Can parents get involved?

Absolutely! See our Volunteer opportunities on the homepage and visit the Volunteer Hub page to find out more – no special skills needed, just enthusiasm.
