Our Group
4th Ashby de la Zouch Scout Group offers Beavers, Cubs & Scouts to young people in Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire. We also have members from Donisthorpe, Moira, Blackfordby, Packington, Normanton le Heath, Heather, Osgathorpe, Coleorton and more.
Over 175 young people take part in regular meetings each week where we have fun and games and try new things. We also camp, a lot, and have activity sessions from canoeing, kayaking, climbing, abseiling, potholing, orienteering and shooting.
During the last few years, we have grown capacity so we can take more young people than ever. Get in touch today to register your interest!
Our leaders are all volunteers, we rely on them and our parents to make all of this happen but it isn’t a chore. It’s a great deal of fun and incredibly rewarding.
4th Ashby Scout Group is itself a registered charity (No 1125053). Formed in 1976, the group was initially the 4th Ashby (Baptist) Scout Group and then moved to the Methodist Chapel before settling in with Ashby Hastings Scout Group, the other group in town, in 2001. Since 2021, we meet at Donisthorpe Scout Centre, Church Street, Donisthorpe, DE12 7PX. We also make regular use of Willesley Scout Campsite.
Policies & Documents
We don’t want to be bogged down in red tape, but we do need to outline how we do things here at 4th Ashby Scout Group.
By publishing them on our website it’s clear for all to see. All our policies support and work alongside The Scouts UK Policy, Organisation and Rules (POR).
If any of these raise an issue, please contact the Chair of the Board of Trustees or the Group Scout Leader.
These policies were last reviewed and approved by the Board of Trustees in November 2025 and will be reviewed periodically.
